I joined NSMI as a member in 2014 because I wanted to make a difference to the local medical research landscape. I have been on the Research Awards Committee since 2016 and was elected as a Council Member in 2019.

I studied Medicine at the University of Edinburgh and did my clinical training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Edinburgh and Oxford, followed by a National Training number in the Eastern Deanery at Cambridge.
I did an MD(Res) degree at Imperial College London, and completed my clinical training in Glasgow, subspecialising in Maternal Fetal Medicine. I was appointed as a Clinical Academic at Keele University and Honorary Consultant Obstetrician at University Hospital of North Midlands in 2013.
My hobbies include reading, travelling and yoga
