Trustee - June Keeling

June Keeling

I joined the North Staffordshire Medical Institute in 2019 as a Trustee and Institute Council member. The opportunity to contribute to the community and make a difference appealed. Becoming a trustee is a rewarding and inspiring role.

My professional background is as a Registered General Nurse in 1988 working at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge followed by the Countess of Chester Hospital, Chester. In 1992 I qualified as a Registered Midwife and remained in this profession for the next 16 years. Since 2005, I have been involved in Higher Education. Enjoying an exciting opportunity in New Zealand, I moved

there with three young children to accept a midwifery lecturer post. Later, on returning to the UK, I returned to nurse education. I have a BSc (Hons), MEd and PhD. I am a Professor of Women’s Health in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Keele University, and a Visiting Professor of Tbilisi Open University, Georgia.

My hobbies involve many outdoor activities including skiing, running and dog agility competitions.
